The Music

The CD has a 12 song roster, which is growing.  The music is inspired by and for the children of The Miracle Project.  The original songs carry the words, voices and rhythms of these special children - messages of hope, understanding and kindness.  

The CD is currently in production, with a completion goal of April 1 for the release to coincide with the documentary airing on HBO (33 million subscribers) for the month of April, which is Autism Awareness Month.  Check iTunes and Amazon for music downloads Fall, 2008. 

The Songs

Many of the songs were written during the actual theater productions of THE MIRACLE PROJECT, while others found their way to FLY with their powerful message:

What’s Your Story?  Children with autism often live more in their inner worlds, and this song honors that inner reality. Jason Alexander lends his Broadway patina to this upbeat number.

Sensitive:  Inspired by his challenges with bullies, Wyatt joins Stephen Stills in this quest to remain open in a world that can be so cold.

I’m A Miracle:  A life affirming, self-empowering mantra that builds to large gospel proportions.

Who Am I?:  A hip-hop, rap style percussive inquiry to really know and beyond, to believe in oneself.

Happy Scat Blues:  Written for The Miracle Project and arranged by Doug Katsaros, this bluesy fun piece will liven up a room of any group of people. 

Finding You Again:  Written by Doug Katsaros for his daughter, a talented musician with austism, this piece speaks straight from the heart of the dynamic experience between parent and child.  

Fly: Part One & Two: Lyrics by a young teen with autism, this ethereal ballad transcends the limitations of judgment.  LEXI, a Miracle Project alumni, sings with the soul of an angel and is joined in a duet by a notable diva, who then segues into a new, anthemic version of FLY. 

New Words:  Written by Maury Yeston, (Broadway’s “Nine” and “Titanic”) features  Jason Alexander who sings a soulful, loving life lesson to a son. 

One Planet, One People, One Song: A happy reggae jam sung by Taylor Parks and Company celebrating our shared space and common heart.

Proud:  A young, fun pop song of confidence to be sung by a notable lead singer with powerful backgrounds by the children of The Miracle Project.   

Butterfly:  A pure message to the butterfly in all of us.  A parent sings a patient, loving message to their child, who will emerge as a butterfly in thier own time.
